Sorry to comment on my own posts, but how drunk does Alan look in that picture. What's truly amazing is that was taken relatively early in the evening (pre 10 PM). He (as well as the rest of you) would continue drinking into the wee hours of the night, going strong enough to make my brother remark, "Damn Bill, your friends can drink".
If you're going to rag on anyone for being drunk, it really should be Eddy. If his inappropriate running commentary during the speeches had been slightly louder, it would have been a performance worthy of a primetime soap opera.
