I don't like the Big East's new scheduling at all.
Seems goofy to me that you don't play everyone in the conference. I guess it works in the Big 10 for football though. I've got a feeling that 16 teams may prove too unwieldy to keep together for more than a few years.
Hopefully Georgetown will get a home and home with Syracuse for "rivalry" reasons.

Yeah, this 16 team thing seems doomed to fail. I'd be happy to see it last 3 years. I think Georgetown will look back on the opportunity to fill a conference with like teams (small, private, historically basketball successful, non-football) as a huge mistake. Maybe thats just me.
Well, once the Big East implodes, the Catholic League is a decent possibility. All of the non-football schools in the BE fit the bill, although I'm guessing they would have to replace Notre Dame with Xavier. I suppose they could try to add St. Joe's and Duquesne as well.
At this point, I think it's better for Georgetown to be in a cumbersome Big East than the Atlantic-10 v.2. Being in the same conference as Syracuse, UConn, and Lousiville is probably our best recruiting tool right now. I think we should at least make one last push to compete at this level before taking a step backwards.
