That was a nice little win. Penn State is terrible, of course, but I liked the way the team responded to PSU's little run in the second half.
Our offense is really fun to watch against a team that's less athletic than we are. Lots more motion than in the Temple game. I'm not sure why Penn State didn't switch to zone. Maybe their basketball coach is senile like JoePa.
This team could improve exponentially next year if we recruit one or two really good outside shooters. We were getting a ton of open looks, and missed a bunch of them. If we had made a reasonable percentage of them, we would have won by 20+.
Really, really like Green. He is tough on the boards and showed some decent offensive skills. I don't know if he is strong enough to be effective offensively in the Big East just yet, but he should have bright future. And he doesn't really have NBA size, so we should have him for four years.
Surprisingly large Penn State contingent on hand for the game. I realize they're a big state school, and they probably have a large alumni base in the greater dc area, but on the other hand, they really, really suck.

Think about it, practically every large state school east of the Mississippi probably has a large alumni base in the DC area. If you're one of their alumni clubs, it has to be a piece of cake to organize a large group of people to head downtown to watch a team, since not only are tickets cheap and readily available, but the team has likely not played a game in the DC/Baltimore region in some time. For the Big East schools, coming to town most every year, there isn't the draw, but I'm guessing Penn State hasn't played inside the beltway for the better part of a decade. I think this applies even if the team is question is not very good. The same could apply for Georgetown if they bothered to go on the road to play games against even marginally decent teams in large cities. On the west coast alone I'm thinking games at USF, Pepperdine or LMU would draw a decent Georgetown crowd, and there are probably examples from cities in the midwest that would also fit. However, instead of realizing that home and homes with teams like that would probably be beneficial for the team (as well as the program in terms of added visibility), both in terms of playing marginally better competition, they decide going on the road to Davidson is a better idea.
What did Esch have against the west coast? He and Biggie were tight or something?
I guess that sort of travel is hard to justify from an academic standpoint, unless done over Christmas break.
I don't think we should play UCLA until they formally apologize for Jason Kapono. Maybe Toby Bailey too.
Who?
I live on the east coast, and I haven't followed college basketball too intensely lately.
Is he Todd Bozeman's bastard child?
