Mr. Unintelligible

Laura and I went to a game watch event in Hermosa Beach this morning to watch Georgetown play yet another flat liftoff half, and not have enough to make a comeback in the vesper half. I'm sure Will and Alan did likewise, so even with the parents of Brandon Bowman and Ashanti Cook in attendance, this is hardly postworthy.

However, what is postworthy is that when I went to the bar to order breakfast (why havent't they eliminated the noon tipoffs with hockey not playing???) and ran into none other than Jeremy Janicki. While I couldn't understand most of what he said, I managed to translate that he still worked for Exxon Mobil, who was generous to move him here a few months back. He lives in Hermosa Beach, is working on taking the GMAT, and appears to have added a few pounds of beer to his face. As for his former associate, Dan Baker (aka Dan/Stan, aka John Daniel Stanislowski) is living in Baltimore with his girlfriend.

John Chaney

I got nothing against Chaney. Hell, anyone who threatens to kill John Calipari is all right with me. But am I the only one who thinks there should be a little bit more outrage over the fact that he sent someone in the game to break some St. Joseph's kid's arm?

A one game suspension? Shouldn't he be getting fired for this? And shouldn't it be getting a little more press? I mean, it's not as despicable as Randy Moss pretending to moon the Green Bay crowd, but February's a slow sports month...

Still Naughty After All These Years

Somewhat belatedly Slate posted a diary from three days at NAIMUN XLII. I have no idea why the conference has changed from its traditional date on President's Day weekend, or why they would have even considered it hosting it Super Bowl weekend (did anybody but total MUN geeks volunteer?), but with quotes like:

"Those short skirts some of the girls are wearing don't comport with the prescribed Western business attire."

It's good to see that some things never change.

Khaaaan!

I bought a used copy of Wrath of Khan on DVD this weekend. The classics never get old.

First of all, I have to say that I'm shocked that a picture of Bacon seems to have totally halted the crapulence for over a week. I assumed that it would have promoted greater crapulence, and perhaps even wallowing in crapulence.

Second, what's the deal for this weekend? Are people still coming into town?

Survey

I'm guessing only Will has actually received an invitation to participate in the Georgetown Sports Information Department's survey that is making the rounds, so I thought I'd post it for everyone else that feels like having a say.

Also, since the survey specifically comments on both the cheerleaders and the dance team, I feel quite justified by adding the following:

WTF?

Crystal City Sports Pub is one of the top 25 sports bars in America?

I may have to cancel my subscription.

Eddy?

Hey Eddy, if you are really reading the blog, I'm having a party this friday.... that's if you still live in New York. I would have invited you, but I have no idea what your email is. And I thought you might be dead. Anyone else who wants to show up as well, I'll send you the details.

Speaking of Senior Ted, Bill, I was chatting with Marty (she who likes to party) last weekend. I think you'll be satisfied to know that she still hates your guts.
