The Whitest Man Alive

So I was at the annual "Buffalo Nite" reception up on the Hill today and happened to run into the one and only Dave Boyd, along with his little sister. He yet again did not shake my hand, although in fairness to him, he did have an excuse, as he had a drink in one hand and a chicken wing in the other.

Not much to report from our crossing paths. His hair is noticeably greying (not as bad as reed, but definitely noticeable). He's got a place out in the wilds of virginia with the little woman. No little boyds yet (either dave is remarkably good at the rhythm method, or suzanne is not as catholic as dave initially asserted).

Eddy, dave wants you to e-mail him.

It tastes like butterscotch..... and fire

I went down to the Jersey shore for the weekend, and stopped at a large liquor store (Buy-rite liquors) to get some beer. To get to the beer, I walked past the rum aisle and saw...Stroh! So, of course, I bought a bottle. I haven't sampled any yet, but I smelled it, and it still smells just as angry as ever. And there's a new warning on the back not to carry it on airplanes. Mmmm, Stroh.

Can you back out of Cleary?

Reed, this job seems like a much better fit.

New York, New York (It's a hell of a town)

I have a new job - well, at least I will have a new job next September. I took an offer with Cleary Gottlieb, a fairly well-known international law firm here in New York. London was great, and the firm there was really nice. But staying in New York offers certain other attractions, which weigh very very heavily in it's favor. So one year from now, I begin the excitement of being a first year associate. It should be fun. The firm's offices are downtown (right next door to Century 21, if you're reading this Laura) - so I'm thinking about getting a place to live in Park Slope. All in all, I'm quite happy with the choice.

So yeah...me...New York...job...money...etc. That's really about it. Oh, and I didn't respond to the picture of Bacon, so just let me say "mmmm, Bacon"

Hoya Schedule

Saw this in the Hoya today. Was pleased to see we're playing Duke and really happy to get Syracuse at home this year, since I may not see the Orange otherwise.

But can someone explain this sentence to me?

"In the Hispanic Classic, Georgetown will travel to Oregon and tentatively compete against Stetson and Savannah State."

So we're going to Oregon to play a crappy team from Florida and a REALLY crappy team from Georgia? And it somehow benefits Hispanics? Is the University of Oregon involved at all?

And if we're going to be out there already, why not schedule the first leg of a home and home with Gonzaga?

The Real Manhattan Beach

So, lacking anything better to watch after the U.S. Open was over this evening, I noticed that the Real Cancun was on UPN. I hadn't watched this since Reed, Will and I watched it on the big screen at the Courthouse theaters a few years back, and it was just as crappy as I remember it. Anyway, just wanted an excuse to post a few unnecessary photos from the film.
