First, they came for the strip clubs...

Maybe Reed should reconsider tax law and instead become a public interest lawyer for beleaguered strip clubs.

One of the Dumber Things I've Done Lately

Was turning down a ticket to see the GMU/UConn game today, since I had to get some work done and thought the Huskies would win by 15.

Between this and Villanova crapping the bed against Florida today, DJ's shot not going down Friday night is becoming more and more disappointing. That's basketball I guess.

Ohio State Fans

In case you didn't believe me when I said the OSU crowd didn't care that much about the basketball team, check out my friend Mike's response to my taunting on the High School blog.

Goin Dancing

At the risk of jinxing us, I like our matchup with Northern Iowa. Saw them against Bucknell and was not impressed. We'll have a significant size and athleticism advantage. I'm definitely happy to be playing them rather than a team like NC State or Arkansas.

Ohio State doesn't exactly strike fear into me, but they'd be a tough matchup. Our perimeter defense has not been so hot lately, and they've got some good shooters. Would rather have had tennessee as the 2 seed, but what can you do.

Not sure that Cuse deserved a 5 seed even after their BET run. Texas A&M will be a tough out, judging from the way they played Texas lately. LSU also seems like a tough matchup for the Orange.

March Madness

Some random observations on basketball.

This year's SU team is the most frustrating yet exhilirating team that I have ever rooted for. It amazes me that they've managed to pull things together for an amazing three game run after an entirely lackluster season. I'm generally not a big fan of scrappy white guys like mcnamara, but he has to be the best clutch player in Syracuse history.

Eric Devendorf looks like a date rapist.

Georgetown sorely needs some more depth, and someone to emerge as the go-to-guy. Sounds like the depth might be on the way, but Green (if he stays) really needs to elevate his game next year to address the second point. Also the defense seems to have regressed since midseason. Not sure if it is fatigue or other teams figuring out better ways to attack us, but it needs to be a point of emphasis going forward.

Still, how nice will it be to watch the selection show tomorrow to see where Georgetown is going and not whether they're in?

This is the most wide open NCAA tournament I can remember, mostly because the top teams all have enough question marks that it's hard to picture any of them putting together a six game run against elite competition.

Reed and I Can Only Hope

That a judge never respondes like this to a motion we file.
