Goin Dancing

At the risk of jinxing us, I like our matchup with Northern Iowa. Saw them against Bucknell and was not impressed. We'll have a significant size and athleticism advantage. I'm definitely happy to be playing them rather than a team like NC State or Arkansas.

Ohio State doesn't exactly strike fear into me, but they'd be a tough matchup. Our perimeter defense has not been so hot lately, and they've got some good shooters. Would rather have had tennessee as the 2 seed, but what can you do.

Not sure that Cuse deserved a 5 seed even after their BET run. Texas A&M will be a tough out, judging from the way they played Texas lately. LSU also seems like a tough matchup for the Orange.

Gtown got jobbed a little, but I like the 7 seed (it's been lucky for us before). Poor Cincy totally got screwed. The Hall gets in and they don't?

I'd rather be a 7 than a 6 in this tournament -- the three seeds seem stronger than the twos.

Seton Hall did beat Cincy down the stretch. I don't know how you justify Alabama, Air Force, or Utah State over the Bearcats though.

Now that they've gotten the same number of bids, can we start referring to the ACC as the "MVC of the East"?

Any team in the NCAA tournament is worth taking seriously, but I like Georgetown's chances better against a team like UNI than a more athletic squad. We seem to run our offense better against that kind of team, and it minimizes some of our defensive shortcomings.

Sucks that we're playing in the middle of the day. I'm on a business trip, and doubt the client would be happy with me leaving at 2:30 to watch a basketball game.

Do OSU fans care about anything besides football?

No, the spring scrimmage is probably a bigger draw than a OSU Final Four game. That and I just refuse to believe that the same Ohio State team I saw lose to San Francisco is 2004 is any good now.

Yeah, I have a hard time taking the Buckeyes seriously. They do have a high RPI though -- did they beat anyone good OOC, or is it just a function of playing in the Big 10?

Must be a function of playing in the big 10. Here are their big Non-con wins: VaTech, St. Joes, Iowa St. and LSU. The rest of their nonconference opponents were Butler, Belmont, Tennessee St, Gardner-Webb, Norfolk St., Florida A&M and Chicago St.

All this basically proves that I don't understand RPI I guess, because their Non-Con RPI was 4th, while plenty of the teams they played finished the season in the 200+ category. I guess not losing helps.
