For the former Ballston crowd, they're tearing down Carpool to make way for yet more condominiums. It wasn't the greatest bar in the world, but for the bar that you'd go to because it was close, I always felt that it fulfilled its role admirably.
Despite being the bar initially dubbed by Eddie as being full of cougars (apparently 25 was just too old for him), I always liked carpool. It was damn close, and even though the wait was often long, the pool tables were fun. Plus I always liked the ability to play Arlington by Emmet Swimming on the jukebox, even if it would never actually get played.
