Three games into the season, I have to say that if the Hoyas don't figure out how to attack a zone, it's going to be a long and disappointing year.
I have faith that we will get better -- we absolutely shredded SU's zone at times last year, so it's just a matter of getting the current personnel to play at that level. But it might be bumpy getting there.
This team suffers a lot for not having a swing player in the mold of bowman or owens. Green is an exceptionally skilled 4, but not to the point where he can fill that role. Egerson is a good defender and rebounder, but not polished enough offensively. I think Summers has the best chance of filling that role by the end of the season, but he's not there yet.
I do like our chances against Duke, since coach K is arrogant enough to stick with the typical Duke overpursuing man to man even though our offense will feast on it, but we need to figure something out before big east play or we will be in a lot of trouble.

Stuff
Bill -- sorry I missed you while you were in town. I was in a complete fog by the end of october after a hellish month of work, completely forgot that you were coming that weekend and didn't see your blog post until today. Hopefully I didn't pull a reed and ignore a phone call or voicemail from you, but if I did, my apologies.
Everyone -- I've once again got two season tickets for the hoyas, so if anyone wants to come down (or east, for most of you) for a game, you've got a seat. Also, I'm pretty sure that I'm going to do the Big East tournament this year, if people are interested in that.
Reed, does the C&F affidavit just apply to you, or does it also cover Buck?

1000 Pizzas is great, but where are my other 1.5 chickens!
Despite being a little disturbing that there is a website titled "meatnews.com", this story is just too good not to post.
I passed the bar!
Well:
Unlike various Kennedys, I have managed to pass the New York bar exam. I have to admit that I'm rather relieved. Emily passed too, so now we both need to start the paperwork to actually get admitted to the bar. Schisa, would you be willing to fill out and sign a character and fitness affadavit?
Other than the bar, things are going well. Work isn't bad - long hours, but reasonably interesting stuff. I'm in the tax law practice group right now, but I'm going to be doing a rotation in corporate in a couple of months to try out structured finance and financial institutions, as well as giving securities law another shot. The real world is good so far.
Oh, and I need your addresses for "save the date" cards.

Dies est cecida
Like Ceasar crossing the Rubicon, I too will be making a triumphant return to the nation's capital this evening/tomorrow morning.
I'm fairly certain Will is the only person left there, but in case I'm wrong I thought I'd post my plans here. Said plans call for an early morning 5k, followed by lunch somewhere in DC, followed by drinks at this place. Ken claims it is the place to be, I just figure it matches up nicely with Laura, who is on a project in Nashville for the next 8 weeks. If you'd like to join for lunch, I think it will be either Tombs, Cheesesteak, Pollo Rico, or Red Hot and Blue. As Ken noted, the Tombs is quite the shitshow on homecoming weekend, so Cheesesteak is probably gonna be the winner. Give me a call if you'd like to meet up for either activity.
