S-M-R-T...I mean S-M-A-R-T!
It appears that the level of discourse on this blog has risen to unacceptable heights, if the rating provided by this site is any indication:

Clearly, more crapulence is needed. In that spirit, I offer the following thought: Poop!

Maces? Really?
Don't ask me why I was reading the Voice online, but the lead to this article really cracked me up:
The Department of Public Safety plans to arm its officers with maces and batons, University President John DeGioia said at a faculty town hall meeting on Tuesday.

Guess his meant some kind of ultra-marathon?
So I was browsing my woeful fantasy team today trying to pick up a running back to replace the one that as of last night is down to only one intact ACL. Anyway, I came across this quote in the fantasy news from Julius Jones and I just had to share. Regarding his lack of touches in the Cowboys rotation:
"It's a long season - it's a race, not a marathon. I'm going to keep my head in the game. When my time comes, I'll be ready for it."
You have to wonder if the guy from cowboys.com didn't snicker just a little when he was writing that down on his notepad. The cliche he was going for is actually one of my favorites ("It's a marathon not a sprint"), but he butchered it so badly that I might even stop using it for a while.

DJ Nick would have happily obliged
So I happened across this site, which makes me thinks class tensions between hipsters and yuppies are at an all time high in our nation's capital. So as I was perusing, I noted the following on the message board, and got a good chuckle out of it. Hope you will too.

U2 Popmart DVD
A small work distraction and plug for the U2 DVD that comes out next on 9/18. Enjoy.
Also, is anybody reading this blog? Can somebody else please post (or at least comment) to let me know I'm not just writing this in vain.

If you're working for OFAC . . .
Will - Please tell me you will get the chance to persecute Michael Moore in some way. Perhaps a global hunt for the foreign "safe house" where he has hidden his film? I bet you could use the black helicopters for that.

Ignoring at least half of that Shakespearean advice: "Never a borrower nor a lender be"
Two Notes from the Left Coast:
1) It's cheaper to get here (from C-bus at least): Skybus is promoting $10 one way flights from CMH to BUR.
2) You'll have somewhere to stay: We're closing on a condo at the end of May.
Not that we're begging for visitors since CMH isn't the most convenient airport for any of you, and given what the payments will be we'd probably charge you like it was a bed and breakfast. I just thought the two items were worth noting.

Always worth a post
Despite being a blog killer, with the end of the college basketball season comes the beginning of NFL talk. That can only mean one thing -- the Redskins have their new Cheerleader calendar out:

Given the recent Vegas trip, can I get an over under on Tiffany B's Cheerleading career? She's entering her 5th season in a sport that does not prize longevity.

Yes, this is for the Hoyas
Although every time I mention them on this blog, they seem to go into a tailspin. So I'll just keep my mouth shut.
New Theme?
Do we owe the new site colors to our beloved Georgetown Hoyas, who hopefully will be BET champs by the end of this week? If so, I applaud the move (tho I wonder how little is going on in Will's life that he has time to change a color scheme, but lacks time to bother to post).
Regardless, I'll do some work for him. Enjoy these quotes from our friend Coach K, made almost one year ago today regarding a cheap shot foul/suspension situation:
"It sends chills through my entire body to hear what Jim did," Duke Coach Mike Krzyzewski said. "Honestly, if he was here right now, I'd give him a big hug. We need more coaches to have the courage to step up in situations like this and say to our kids, 'That's wrong; I'm not making excuses for you.' If I were in the same situation, I hope I'd be gutsy enough and strong enough to do the same thing, but I can't swear to you that I would. If a big-name coach did something like that, people would be fitting him for sainthood by tomorrow. Whatever Jim does the rest of his career, any championships he might win, this is as good and as important a thing as he'll ever do as a coach. I can't tell you how much I admire him for doing this."

that was close...
For a minute there it looked like San Diego might be a force in the AFC for years to come. Then they went and did this. Suddenly I'm not so concerned. Sorry Alan.

Several Things
The crapulence meter has been not only not very crapulent, it has been positively moribund this past month. So, while I can't match Bill's L.A. rock'n'roll lifestyle, I thought it was time for some sort of post.
1. In preparation for the trip to Vegas, I have been collecting singles - with a little under two months to go, I now have $52 in singles that are crying out to be folded vertically and tucked into something elastic. HOWEVER, I have heard a horrible rumor that places in Vegas are only topless! Can this be true?
2. We're moving again. Nothing drastic - actually just a block away. But we are now one block closer to Times Square in the heart of Manhattan, so if you're in the neighborhood, drop by.
