Maces? Really?

Don't ask me why I was reading the Voice online, but the lead to this article really cracked me up:

The Department of Public Safety plans to arm its officers with maces and batons, University President John DeGioia said at a faculty town hall meeting on Tuesday.

Guess his meant some kind of ultra-marathon?

So I was browsing my woeful fantasy team today trying to pick up a running back to replace the one that as of last night is down to only one intact ACL. Anyway, I came across this quote in the fantasy news from Julius Jones and I just had to share. Regarding his lack of touches in the Cowboys rotation:

"It's a long season - it's a race, not a marathon. I'm going to keep my head in the game. When my time comes, I'll be ready for it."

You have to wonder if the guy from cowboys.com didn't snicker just a little when he was writing that down on his notepad. The cliche he was going for is actually one of my favorites ("It's a marathon not a sprint"), but he butchered it so badly that I might even stop using it for a while.

So I happened across this site, which makes me thinks class tensions between hipsters and yuppies are at an all time high in our nation's capital. So as I was perusing, I noted the following on the message board, and got a good chuckle out of it. Hope you will too.
